J. Michael Straczynski, who rebooted Marvel’s Thor in September of 2007 and turned it into a Top 10 comic, is leaving the book in September 2009 when Marvel will publish his Asgardian swansong, Thor: Defining Moments Giant Size #1.

Paramount’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen powered its way to an amazing estimated total of $201.24 million over its first five days. The new Transformers film, which has also earned an outstanding $187 million overseas, pushed the box office total a solid 9% over the same weekend last year when Pixar’s Wall-E debuted to $63 million.

Atomic Comics - You have been considered by some, to be one of the great all-time X-Men artists. Each time you return home, how does it feel?
Marc Silvestri - First off that puts me in some good company so thanks! The X-Men always feel like a happy reunion with an old friend. Wolverine is still one of my all time favs and I’ve always thought The X-Men defined the “team book” concept in general. Plus as Marvel’s flagship franchise outside of Spiderman you can always count on working with the best creative talent.
