| Oh so what then? Now you're making fun of an entire culture? You, Patrick, are a despicable human being! Just because they don't leave left to right like Americans? Wow, just wow. I think it is YOU who are the asshat! Asshat! BTW, the lack of color keeps cost down. Look how much material you get for the money! I want to punch people like you in their spine and make their limbs tingle. Next time I see you I'm punching you in the spine! |

| In reply to the above post. In my defense, they draw dudes like chicks. Like chicks dude. Chicks. I rest my case. |

| So you would prefer American artists who draw men with bodies that can only be attained through use of performance enhancing drugs? And what about the women? Talk about malproportioned and deformed. If you had a daughter, would you want her to grow up with a maligned worldview where women stive for the unattainable look of girls in comics and magazines! So you think American artists are superior now? |

You argue a good point with yourself sir >.>.....
Some manga are left to right and not right to left actually >.< but they still tend to draw dudes that look like chicks, not going to lie there. I wish some manga were in color, but then again i dont think alot of them would look very good colored, there would be just way too much on the pages. You also get to use your imagionation a bit more when they arent colored, like how you kind of make up your own voices for how you think the character should or would sound if speaking. |

| Even the worlds greatest manga artist isn't as good as any mainstream American comic artist. |

| In their defense most of those dudes who draw funnybooks in Jaoan knock out 15 pages a week for a wekly magazine and write and draw them. True it's no Mage, Sacvage Dragon or American Flagg but it should be noted |

You know what thats your opinion, but honestly how can you compaire the 2? They're completely different styles of art, and completely different styles of writing. Stating your opinion is fine, but just saying something such as that like its a proven fact, is just ridiculous. To each their own... Don't be such a dick, kthx. |

I think manga is great. Granted, I'm a very selective and picky manga reader. There are titles out there that there is no way America can get away with producing them (mostly).
If you don't like the art style, more power to you, but you're missing out on a great medium of entertainment and severely hindering your scope. I won't fault anyone for that as it's their prerogative to read what they want and not read what they want -- but give it a chance.
Death Note is the prime candidate for any comic fan to check out. The art is appealing, the story is compelling, and it just sucks you in. Since I got hooked on Death Note I've been more open to reading manga! I've discovered Monster, Museum of Terror, Category Freaks, Oldboy, Zombie Powder, and a few others. Hell, I'm even reading some of the other titles that I never thought I'd read like My-Hime and Bleach!
I'll admit that I do prefer my awesome comics over manga any day of the week, month, or year but manga is a great alternative entertainment source! |

| Who says I don't read manga, I read several series, my point was I don't think the art is as good as American comics. |

Ok, yes American comics are good, but were is the diversity, all they are about is super hero's. Manga/Anime are so diverse, the art is amazing, and the story lines continue to aww me. I agree with matt Death Note is a very original and beautiful Anime/Manga. There is no point in arguing which art style is better, Japanese artists respect American artists and American Artists respect Japanese artist.
